As 2011 passed and we welcomed 2012 with parties and fireworks many had time to reflect on the year that had passed, to celebrate the triumphs and remember the loses. But as we welcome this New Year everyone around the world make resolutions, resolutions about losing weight or becoming healthier and becoming less stressed. But does anyone ever keep them? Right after that New Year’s Eve party after the clock has struck twelve everyone has gone back to their old ways. Why can’t we keep them? Are we too lazy? Do we just not care? But one thing I thought about was, do we set ourselves up to fail? I mean, making working out 5 days a week an annual thing is, if you think about it too much. It’s an unrealistic goal, how many people actually have the time for that? But if you say “I’m going to work out every other day for one hour” you might actually stick to it. The main point is, make your resolutions little things and work up to the bigger ones. Who knows, you might even keep it for the whole year.
Anna Lee, this is so true! I think everyone just gives up on their resolutions within the first week. I think you talking about setting a realistic goal is smart.
ReplyDeleteI like how you talked about what you did for the new years. it was also a long article too.
