Reading Reflection

I can’t believe freshmen year is almost over! It’s been such a big year for me in English. This year has been a very busy year of reading for me. I’ve read a lot of different genres then I usually would in years past. It’s still really surprising how many different books I like to read, I used to read just girly books but I’ve been finding some that are different.
I’ve always had a really hard time reading old English stuff like Romeo and Juliet because when I don’t understand things right away I tend to get frustrated but this year I’ve learned to just sit down, read it, and analyze what I just read. It’s helped so much. Also reading in class and acting out the different scenes has helped me understand everything more. Also, annotating was very hard me but I’m getting better at it after every book we read. I hope in the years to come I will continue reading and I hope I can start reading bigger books outside of school.
